Cristo Rey San Diego High School is preparing students with limited economic means for success. After opening in August 2020, Cristo Rey San Diego is now the 37th school in the Cristo Rey Network. Cristo Rey schools integrate four years of rigorous academic curriculum with four years of professional work experience, delivering a proven and innovative faith-based approach to education. Students graduate equipped with the knowledge, character and skills required to succeed in college and in life.

 

We’re glad you are here to apply to Cristo Rey San Diego! Before you apply, please be sure to check our eligibility requirements below. We accept students on a rolling basis until our class is full. Spots are limited. Therefore, the sooner you apply and interview the better!

Step 1 - Eligibility
Academic Eligibility:
  • We are seeking students who display
    • Motivation and maturity
    • Openness to spiritual and academic growth
    • Passing grades for current grade level
    • Good discipline and attendance record
  • Students must be rising 9th or 10th graders. We do not accept any other grades at this time. 

Employability:
  • All incoming students entering the 2023-2024 school year must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please contact our office to find out if we can help support your child's specific situation. 

Financial Eligibility
  • The student's family must be financially eligible. The family of the student must be considered as having limited financial resources. A copy of the most recent tax return (2021 or 2022), W-2 or any state/federal aid documents must be submitted. If you do not file taxes, you must submit an employment letter and any aid documents to show all income earned in the last calendar year. Please see the table below in order to determine if you qualify. Please contact the Admissions Office if you would like more information.

CRSD Application: Student’s Personal Data Form

Prepare a copy of your family's financial documents to verify household income. 

    • A copy of the most recent tax return (2021 or 2022), W-2 or any state/federal aid documents must be submitted in order to qualify. If you do not file taxes, you must submit an employment letter and any aid documents to show all income earned.

The following documents are to be turned in to designated staff and faculty of the student's current school.

English Teacher Recommendation Form

  • Please fill out, sign and date the top portion of the form to give Cristo Rey access to student information. Give evaluation form to the student's current English teacher and have them return the form via mail or email.

Math Teacher Recommendation Form

  • Please fill out, sign and date the top portion of the form to give Cristo Rey access to student information. Give evaluation form to the student's current math teacher and have them return the form via mail or email.

Request for Student Records Form

  • Please fill out, sign and date the top portion of the form to give Cristo Rey access to student records. Give evaluation form to the student's current front office administration and have them return the information via mail or email.
Step 3 - Interview
After you have submitted your application, financial documentation and all forms have been submitted, the Admissions Office will determine whether or not your student will be invited for an admissions interview. The Admissions Office will email and call you at that time to set up an appointment.
