How to Apply

The 2020-2021 School Year Application is Now Open for all incoming 9th graders! Apply Now and be a part of our Founding Freshmen Class of 2024!

We’re glad you are planning to apply to Cristo Rey San Diego High School! Before you apply, please be sure to check our eligibility requirements below. We accept students on a rolling basis until our class is full. Spots are limited. Therefore, the sooner you apply and interview the better!

With questions or concerns, please call the Admissions Office at 619-432-1899 , or email admissions@cristoreysandiego.org. You can also come by and visit us during our weekday office hours from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Please call for any additional availability.

Step 1 - Eligibility
Academic Eligibility:
  • We are seeking students who display
    • Motivation and Maturity
    • Openness to spiritual and academic growth
    • Passing grades for current grade level
    • Good discipline and attendance record
  • Students must be rising 9th graders. We do not accept any other grades at this time. We are beginning the 2020/2021 school year in August with only the inaugural freshmen class.

Employability:
  • All incoming 9th grade students entering the 2020-2021 school year must be 14 years old by September 1, 2020, in order to be placed in our Work-Study Program. Please call the Admissions Office with any questions regarding student age requirements. There is limited flexibility.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States. Documentation will be required during enrollment.

Financial Eligibility
  • The student's family must be financially eligible. The family of the student must be considered as having limited financial resources. A copy of the most recent tax return (2018), W-2 or any state/federal aid documents must be submitted. If you do not file taxes, you must submit an employment letter and any aid documents to show all income earned in the last calendar year. Please see the graph below in order to determine if you qualify. Please contact the Admissions Office if you would like more information.
Step 2 - Application

CRSD Application/Student’s Personal Data form
  • Submit Family Financial Documents to Cristo Rey along with CRSD Application

The following documents are to be turned in to designated staff and faculty of the student's current school. English Teacher Recommendation Form
  • Please fill out, sign and date the top portion of the form to give Cristo Rey access to student information. Give evaluation form to the student's current english teacher and have them return the form via mail or email.
Math Teacher Recommendation Form
  • Please fill out, sign and date the top portion of the form to give Cristo Rey access to student information. Give evaluation form to the student's current math teacher and have them return the form via mail or email.
Request for a Copy of Student Records Form
  • Please fill out, sign and date the top portion of the form to give Cristo Rey access to student records. Give evaluation form to the student's current front office administration and have them return the information via mail or email.
Step 3 - Interview
After you have submitted your application, financial documentation and all forms have been submitted, the Admissions Office will determine whether or not your student will be invited for an admissions interview. The Admissions Office will email and call you at that time to set up an appointment.
