River Stambaugh

Mathematics & Computer Science

River Stambaugh is a recent Master’s graduate in mathematics with an emphasis in computational math modeling from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Before his Master’s program, River graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He studied mathematics, concentrating in teaching, as well as earning a minor in computer science.

Before Cristo Rey, River found teaching experience tutoring a broad range of mathematical learners. During a long-term substitute position at Santa Fe Christian High School, he had the opportunity to guide AP Calculus students to excellent scores on their exams, as well as mentor multiple sections of geometry.

Since discovering a passion for mathematics and education during his high school years, River has been working towards finding the right community to teach STEM. He is overjoyed to have discovered Cristo Rey, and grateful to be able to be teaching AP Computer Science and Geometry to a diverse and brilliant student population.
