José Felix was born in Chula Vista, California but first lived in Playas de Tijuana until about seven years old. When moving back to the United States, his family relocated multiple times throughout San Diego (Barrio Logan, National City, Chula Vista) until ending up in Escondido. He is a first-generation graduate of the University of San Diego, where he studied International Business and Spanish and played collegiate soccer, club soccer, and rugby.
José has over 11 years of experience in fundraising for Catholic Dioceses, Parishes, and Schools. He has worked and lived in the following cities: Sacramento, Oakland, Raleigh, Boise, Laredo, Providence, and New York. In 2015, José took a professional sabbatical and earned his Master’s Degree in Spanish Language and Literature while attending St. John’s University in Queens, New York. José continues to learn, is convinced of the power of education to reach your potential, and believes we must all be forever students.
José lives in Oceanside with his wife Sarah and their daughter who was born in 2022. He is enthusiastic about the outlook of our school and feels privileged to be a part of the Cristo Rey San Diego High School family.
