Steven was born in Compton, CA but moved to Eugene, OR at an early age. In Eugene, he attended public schools K-12, and truly found a love for helping others. As a high school senior, Steven was a part of a dynamic Kids-Helping-Kids program that was responsible for raising $40,000 for his local NICU Pediatrics Hospital. After graduation, Steven attended the University of Oregon where he studied and received his B.A in Family and Human Services through the College of Education. As a first generation college graduate, Steven learned how to navigate the educational system by trial and error, but couldn’t have done it without amazing mentors. Now
more than ever, he is committed to give back to his community and to those who need it the most!
Steven has over 4 years of non-profit management experience in various industries. He has fought against wrongful convictions or unjust punishments in juvenile courts with the ultimate goal of each juvenile having their records expunged. Additionally, Steven was responsible for coordinating a robust Summer Internship Program that included luxurious learning experiences at Google, CISCO, Law Firms, Architecture Firms & many more!
Outside of his career, Steven loves spending time with his wife, Kendra, and his 2 Corgis, Baloo and Chance. He is a sports fanatic, and enjoys watching and playing all sports. He has coached baseball and basketball in recent years, and hopes to continue that at CRSDHS! Steven is a “foodie”, so if you have any food recommendations, please send them his way! Steven is extremely passionate about supporting students to achieve their wildest dreams, and looks forward to making that happen here at Cristo Rey San Diego High School!
