Yaretzi Bielma

My name is Yaretzi Bielma, I am a first year school counselor. I was born and raised in San Diego. I grew up in City Heights and Southeast San Diego but currently live in Chula Vista. I received my Bachelor’s degree from UC Riverside with a major in Public Policy and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Recently, I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in May of this year with my masters and credential in Counseling and Guidance. I am a first generation college graduate who strongly values education. Just like Cristo Rey students, I also attended a college preparatory high school dedicated to underserved communities and students.

I worked at the Sweetwater High School District for five years. During my time at Sweetwater I was an instructional assistant and an interventionist at two South Bay High School’s. My passions lie in working with underserved communities and helping find interventions to provide equitable and accessible education to all students.
